How Casa Casa Works
Casa Casa is a member-based travel club, and how it works is simple. Our members are both travelers and hosts. When you travel as a member of Casa Casa, you can stay in the comfortable homes of other friendly members and enjoy a home-cooked breakfast. Your host member provides a clean and comfortable place to sleep, and either a light or full breakfast. In exchange, traveling members pay their gracious hosts a small gratuity. Out of this warm exchange of hospitality may come new friendships, local knowledge of the best places to visit and things to do, and an overall stronger experience of community through travel.
Casa Casa members pay an annual membership fee of $40. The same fee applies to individuals or households. Your membership fee funds the administration of the organization and website, member support, and marketing to help grow our membership (the more members, the more host options there are). As a member, your name is listed in the password-protected Casa Casa Directory (address and contact information is never listed in the Directory, though). When you join, you will have immediate access to search the Directory to arrange a homestay.
The Basics
Traveling – When planning a trip, you search the Casa Casa membership directory for your destination area.
This will give you a list of Casa Casa members in the area you are traveling to who are potential hosts. You browse through the search results for a host that best matches what you are looking for. Contact that member through our website to arrange your stay. The host is free to accept or decline any request.
After locating a host, you and the host member work out the details of arriving and departing dates, and any house rules that apply. As common courtesy, please call the host member a few days prior to arrival to reconfirm the stay and firm up the arrival time. Upon arrival, present your gratuity to your host. Remember, always treat your host member’s home as you would have someone treat yours.
Hosting – As a member of Casa Casa, you will be contacted to host traveling members for short stays . As a host, you offer that extra bedroom (or comfortable sofabed), breakfast (continental or full), and perhaps a bit of your time to acquaint the fellow member(s) with your area and local attractions. Your guests will give you a gratuity to cover your costs. As a host, you may accept or decline any request for accommodations. The number of times per year a member has guests is entirely at the host’s discretion and convenience.
